Northampton Town has lost defender Nesta Guinness-Walker following their relegation to League Two. Nesta Guinness-Walker played 72 times for the Cobblers, scoring three goals after signing for the club in September 2024. He was in discussions with the club over a contract extension but an agreement was not reached. Nesta leaves alongside Cameron McGeehan who spent two years at Sixfields, scoring 18 goals in 82 appearances. Manager Chris Hogg said both players were excellent servants to the club and they part on good terms. Chris Hogg wants players who are fully committed to the club moving forward. Nesta joined Reading in 2022 as a free agent from AFC Wimbledon and played nearly 40 times for Reading in three years. He has faced Reading four times since departing to Northampton, twice this season, in three Royals wins and a draw. Nesta's departure comes as Northampton Town looks to rebuild after relegation. The club will be seeking new players who are committed to the team's success. Chris Hogg's approach will be crucial in the upcoming season. Nesta Guinness-Walker's time at Northampton Town has come to an end, but the club will move forward with new players and a new strategy.
