New Signing: Tyreece Simpson Joins Port Vale
Port Vale has bolstered its attacking options with the signing of Tyreece Simpson. The 24-year-old striker scored three goals in 40 appearances for Brady during the 2023/24 League One season before moving to Stevenage, where he played two seasons before being released at the end of last campaign.
Simpson's return to Vale is part of a growing trend as Brady continues his mission to bring back former Northampton Town players. Fellow ex-Cobbler Aaron McGowan signed with the club earlier this summer, and Simpson is now set to join him in the Vale squad.
Comparing Current Squad to Promotion-Winning Cobblers Team
In an interview, Brady expressed his excitement about the current squad's potential, drawing a comparison to his promotion-winning Northampton Town team from 2019/20. "We went to Spain for a week and I felt the group connected really well," said Brady. "Forget ability wise, right now, I haven’t had a group that are starting to connect like this since my second year at Northampton. It’s a really good feeling at the moment.
Brady also praised Martin Foyle, who joined Vale as chief scout earlier in the summer. Despite limited resources, Brady noted that Foyle managed to bring in players of high quality and maintain a stable core group for nearly four years, contributing significantly to their success. "He knows the profile of players I want," said Brady.
With Simpson's addition, Port Vale looks set to have a strong attacking force, reminiscent of Brady’s promotion-winning Cobblers team from 2019/20.
