Firefighters were called to a scrubland blaze off Walter Tull Way, close to Northampton Town’s Sixfields ground, at 16:10 BST. The Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service reported that the fire involved bushes and fly-tipped waste. Crews managed to extinguish the blaze and remained on scene to dampen down hot spots. Footage released by the service shows a large area on fire with thick black smoke billowing. A second fire had occurred on Walter Tull Way a week earlier. The incident was reported by BBC News.
